PeakMade Expands Footprint in 3 States
The firm picked up more than 700 units across five properties.
PeakMade Real Estate has expanded its national management multifamily portfolio with five communities totaling 743 units located across three states: Illinois, Florida and Connecticut. Two of the assets are in Chicago, one is in Tampa, Fla., one in Altamonte Springs, Fla.—a suburb of Orlando—and one in Newtown, Conn.
PeakMade’s managing multifamily portfolio—which includes student housing—comprises more than 30,000 units across the U.S., mainly in the Sun Belt region.
When it comes to multifamily construction, PeakMade has developed more than 30 projects nationwide. In July, the company broke ground on Olathe Commons, a 204-unit build-to-rent property that it’s is co-developing with long-time partner Blue Vista Capital Management.
The portfolio, up close
The properties in Chicago are the 126-unit Post Chicago and the 43-unit Chateau on Wells, completed in 2023 and 2016 respectively. The 10-story Post Chicago is located at 853 W. Blackhawk St., and includes residences with layouts ranging from 368 to 1,279 square feet. Chateau on Wells rises 12 stories and features apartments with one- to three-bedroom layouts between 824 and 1,470 square feet. The community is at 707 N. Wells St., in the River North neighborhood.
In Tampa, Fla. PeakMade acquired Beach Club, a 200-unit, 1979-completed community at 6904 Ralston Place Drive. Beach Club consists of 12 two-story buildings enclosing studio, one- and two-bedroom residences between 450 and 810 square feet. PeakMade’s second Florida purchase in this transaction is for The Essex, a 164-unit asset completed in 1970 at 112 Essex Ave., in Altamonte Springs. The Essex features one- to three-bedroom apartments ranging from 590 to 1,225 square feet across 41 two-story buildings.
Lastly, the company bought Covered Bridge in Newtown, a residential property featuring 210 apartments across seven three-story buildings. The community came online in 2023 at 9 Covered Bridge Road, featuring residences of one- to three-bedroom floorplans averaging 987 square feet.
