Peak Campus to Manage Alabama Student Housing

Mobile, Ala.—DRA Advisors has tapped student housing operator Peak Campus for the management of The Edge on Old Shell Road in Mobile. The 560-bed student housing property, which DRA recently acquired, serves the University of South Alabama.
The Edge offers two-, three- and four-bedroom, garden-style apartments within walking distance of campus. Each unit is designed to offer “bed-to-bath parity” (a private bathroom for each student) and fully-furnished units that include hardwood floors, kitchens equipped with stainless steel appliances and full-sized washers and dryers.
The property’s common amenities include a 24-hour fitness center with cardio theater, resort-style pool, grilling areas and outdoor poolside movie theater. The Edge also sports a gaming station, Internet café and 24-hour clubhouse.
The University of South Alabama is a public institution in Mobile and includes one of the two state-supported medical schools in Alabama. It has an enrollment of about 16,000 students and both on-campus and off-campus housing is available.
