Atlanta—Atlanta-headquartered Peak Campus Development has announced that it has broken ground on the second phase of its Charlottesville, Va., student housing community, Pavilion at North Grounds (“The Pavilion”).
The community, which serves the student population of the nearby University of Virginia, opened its doors after the completion of the initial phase last August. The 230 units for that phase are already 100 percent occupied for the current school year and the ensuing phase will add another 70 units to the project.
The LEED Silver Pavilion project offers floor plans ranging from one- to three-bedrooms, all of which include private bathrooms, in-unit washer and dryers, upscale finishes such as stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. Furnished unit packages are also available and each bedroom features its own keyed entry.
The community’s amenities includes a resort-style swimming pool, a 24-hour state-of-the-art fitness center, a 24-hour business center, as well as a large multi-purpose clubhouse, study rooms on every floor and secure bike storage.
Located at 2101 Arlington Boulevard in Charlottesville, The Pavilion is adjacent the University making it easily within walking or biking distance of the Darden School of Business, the UVA Law School, as well as the Barracks Road Shopping Center, which includes two grocery stores and an assortment of retail and dining options.
The University of Virginia has a total enrollment of 21,238, with 14,989 attending as undergraduate students. Additional colleges and universities in the area of The Pavilion include the Piedmont Virginia Community College campus, which also serves as the location of an Old Dominion University extended campus. That campus is located about five miles southeast of the The Pavilion.
