Parisian Mixed-Use Towers Get the Green Light
The pair Tours DUO is ready to bring some edge to the Parisian streets with a strong architectural identity and an asymmetrical design.

Paris, France—The pair Tours DUO is ready to bring some edge to the Parisian streets with a strong architectural identity and an asymmetrical design. Following a public examination, the Paris City Hall issued a construction permit for the mixed-use development designed by architect Jean Nouvel.
Conveniently located in the heart of the Paris Rive Gauche district, the Tours DUO have been conceived and designed as a mixed-use facility offering 1,034,000 square feet of tertiary space and more than 129,000 square feet of space accessible to the public: an eight-level hotel, a restaurant-bar with a panoramic view over Paris, a garden and green terraces, an auditorium and neighbourhood shops.
The towers will have an asymmetrical design, one will reach a height of 590 square feet with 39 floors, whereas the second tower will have 400 square feet with 27 floors. The project will achieve exceptional energy performance with LEED Platinum, HQE and Effinergie+ certifications, as they were built on a “Sobriety, Efficiency, Renewability” foundation.

The Tours DUO project is led by Ivanhoé Cambridge as developer and sole investor. Ateliers Jean Nouvel will be in charge of design on this project and Hines is the associate developer for the Tours DUO. The City of Paris and the SEMAPA awarded the project in 2012 with the ZAC Paris Rive Gauche master developer.
The delivery of Tours DUO is projected for 2020, after meeting a pre-leasing minimum of 50 percent of the office space.
