Opus Group Begins Construction of Chicago Mixed-Use

The six-story project will comprise 164 units and 7,600 square feet of Class A retail space. Completion of the community is scheduled for spring 2019.

In a joint venture with Principal Real Estate Investors, The Opus Group has begun construction of a luxury mixed-use, transit-oriented development in Chicago’s submarket of Elmhurst, Ill.

“This is an ideal location for luxury suburban living where Elmhurst-area residents have access to urban amenities, grocery stores and restaurants while also allowing an easy commute into downtown Chicago,” Bryan Farquhar, director, real estate development, Opus Development Co., told Multi-Housing News. “We look forward to continued collaboration with the City of Elmhurst as we work toward realizing the vision of its Downtown Plan.”

Luxury Amenities

Located at 100 N. Addison, the six-story project will comprise 164 units and 7,600 square feet of Class A retail space. Floorplans will be offered in junior one-bedroom and standard one-, two- and three-bedroom units. Residents will have access to amenities including:

  • state-of-the-art fitness center
  • yoga room
  • clubroom
  • demonstration kitchen
  • communal dining room
  • work-from-home suites
  • outdoor amenity deck
  • pool and cabanas
  • grilling area and outdoor kitchen and televisions
  • pet spa and dog-walking area

Construction began in November 2017 and is scheduled for completion in spring 2019. Opus Development is the developer of the project, Opus Design Build is the design-builder, Opus AE Group is the architect of record and structural engineer, Harshorne Plunkard Architecture is the design architect and ESG Architects is the interior designer.
