Minneapolis—The Opus Group has completed development of The Nic on Fifth, a 26-story, luxury high-rise apartment community in downtown Minneapolis, designed to meet LEED certification.

Located on the corner of Fifth Street and Nicollet Mall, the property is the first new luxury apartment development built in the downtown Minneapolis core in nearly 30 years.

“This development appeals to a wide variety of residents and truly raises the bar for urban living in downtown Minneapolis,” Dave Menke, Opus Development Company’s president, says. “We’re thrilled with the final result and believe the location and transportation options combined with its skyway connectivity and unsurpassed amenities make it a great addition to the city’s vision for future growth.”

The Nic on Fifth features 253 units, 26 of which are penthouses, and 30,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenity space. All units feature condo-level finishes with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and floor to ceiling windows with floor plans ranging from alcove units to three bedroom penthouse suites.

Community amenities include a clubroom, workout facility, outdoor fire pits, a kitchen and grilling lounge, dog run and Zen walking path. Additionally, the building has 24/7 doorman and concierge services.

The transit-oriented development is also situated next to a light rail station and shares a sidewalk with Nicollet Mall, an 11-block pedestrian and public transit mall. The development is also connected to downtown Minneapolis’ public skyway system.

Currently, the building is 60 percent leased.
