Opus Breaks Ground in Downtown Minneapolis
The six-story building is the company's third residential development in downtown Minneapolis and its eighth in Minnesota. The community is expected to be delivered in 2020.
The Opus Group is wrapping up a busy 2018 by starting construction work on its third community in Minneapolis’ North Loop. After Velo and Variant, completed in 2014 and 2017, the company is getting ready to add 218 new market-rate units to the area. River Loop Apartments will be located at the intersection of West River Parkway and Plymouth Avenue and is slated for completion by the summer of 2020.
The upcoming community will occupy more than 2 acres and will offer views of the Mississippi River as well as trail access to the Grand Rounds Scenic Byway System, a public urban parkway that links the city’s lakes, parks and historical sites. In order to make the upcoming six-story property fit the historical look of the neighborhood, developers will use stone and brick next to glass and metal for the exterior. Planned amenities include a rooftop terrace, fitness room, pool and spa.
Opus Development Co. is the developer of the project while Opus Design Build is the design builder. The construction team also includes Opus AE Group as architect and engineer of record, while ESG Architects is in charge of interior design.
