Lisle, Ill.—Opus Development Corporation has begun construction on Arboretum Landmark, a four-story luxury apartment complex in Lisle, Ill.

“Lisle is in the heart of the I-88 corporate corridor in Chicago, a series of office parks in the area so the young professional demographic is well represented,” Sean Spellman, Opus Development Corporation’s vice president and general manager, tells MHN. “As a community itself, Lisle is very well established and has a real nice Parks and Recreations program with softball, volleyball and even a ski hill in town. That makes it a very attractive suburban location.”

Arboretum Landmark will offer 310 residential units comprised of one- and two-bedroom apartments, each offering a variety of high-end amenities.

“We believe the amenity package is geared toward young professionals,” Spellman says. “Units will offer a chef’s kitchen with stainless steal appliances, granite countertops and garbage disposals. Each unit will have a washer and dryer, a microwave with charcoal filters, operable windows, and every unit will have a balcony.”

The building is also pet friendly and is located in a good school district, so young married couples and professionals will be happy.

“This building will feature multiple amenities geared toward young professionals, including fantastic proximity to both work and downtown locations,” Spellman says. “We see a demand in multi-housing and as a company, are trying to find fantastically, well situated sites close to transportation and suburban and urban places of employment in places where people want to live.”

Building amenities include an outdoor heated swimming pool, patio area, communal gas grills, outdoor fire pit, fitness center, business center, a theater room and a sunroom.

Additionally, Arboretum Landmark will contain 500 parking spaces for residents and guests to utilize.

“Parking spaces are a very big deal in Chicago,” Spellman says. “The suburban markets are very commuter friendly but people prefer to drive. Our parking spaces also provide a sense of safety and security, which gives us a competitive edge in the area.”

The project is slated for occupancy beginning September 2013.

Opus Development Corporation is the developer and Opus Design Build LLC will serve as the general contractor, both under the umbrella of The Opus Group, a family of national commercial real estate companies headquartered in Minneapolis, with expertise in development, project management and construction.
