One Sixty Madison in Manhattan Begins Leasing

New York—Leasing has kicked off at the 319-unit One Sixty Madison, a new residential tower in Manhattan’s NoMad neighborhood (North of Madison Square Park). J.D. Carlisle Development Corp., in partnership with DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners and Mitsui Fudosan America Inc., developed the property.

The development has had a long history. Plans for the site were unveiled before the recession, but progress was stalled until Carlisle bought the site from lender North Hill Capital Management after the previous owners defaulted on construction loans. Carlisle then announced its own plans for a 45-story rental building, as opposed to the original plans for condos.

One of One Sixty Madison’s distinctions is an octagon shape, the first of its kind in Manhattan, according to Carlisle, which lends itself to views that aren’t aligned with the city grid. SLCE Architects designed the structure, with interiors by Philip Koether Architects. Douglas Elliman Development Marketing is the marketing and leasing agency.

One Sixty Madison offers more than 20,000 square feet of amenity space through its Club Madison membership, which includes its Three Sixty Lounge on the top floor. The Lounge features an indoor fireplace and two rooftop terraces with views. Residents also have access to the nearly 14,000-square-foot Park Lounge, surrounded by the building’s elevated and landscaped private park.

Additional amenities include a fitness center overlooking the private park, valet and concierge services, bicycle storage and a fully attended lobby. The property features studio, one- and two-bedroom units. Move-ins at the building have begun.
