NRP Group Breaks Ground on Pittsburgh Community
The 442-unit project forms part of the Riverfront Landing development in the Strip District.
The NRP Group and its equity partner The Buncher Co. have broken ground on The District, a 442-unit rental apartment community in the Strip District of Pittsburgh. The project comprises the second residential phase of Riverfront Landing, a larger 28-acre master-planned development on the Allegheny River.

The partnership last year opened the first residential phase, a 365-unit rental community called Edge1909. Located between that property and the 16th Street Bridge, the new community will offer studio, one- and two-bedroom units, including penthouse lofts and ground-floor units accessible to the street.
Amenities will include secured indoor parking, a resort-style pool, outdoor kitchens, a top-floor sky lounge, fitness rooms, a club room with kitchen and kayak storage with access to the nearby boat launch on the river. Dollar Bank is providing construction financing for the project, which is scheduled for completion in 2021.
The overall Riverfront Landing scheme will deliver more than 800 luxury apartments, 46 townhomes and 1 million square feet of office space, hotels and retail to the Strip District, a formerly industrial area that has become a locus for tech companies involved in autonomous vehicles, artificial intelligence and manufacturing automation.
