London, Enland—A brand new Hilton hotel has opened its doors to guests in the city of London.
Hilton London Bankside, the latest property to join the Hilton portfolio of more than 70 hotels across Ireland and the U.K., celebrated its official opening October 8. Located at 2-8 Suffolk St. in the heart of the Bankside district, the 292-key hotel is inspired by brutalist architecture, raw industrial design and urban living.
Designed in partnership with Dexter Moran architects and Twenty2Degrees, each part of the new Hilton mirrors the history and feel of the surrounding area. The new hotel offers guests easy access to a number of popular London attractions, such as the prestigious Tate Modern art gallery, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, as well as the Blackfriars Rail Station.
In addition to its 292 guestrooms, Hilton London Bankside also features The Distillery, a casual bar located on the site of a renowned essence factory in the 1800’s; a new neighborhood eatery called OXBO Bankside; state-of-the-art fitness facilities, swimming pool, and treatment room; eight flexible meeting rooms; the Bankside Ballroom, which can house up to 700 guests; and a penthouse apartment with a private roof terrace and views of the London skyline.
“Bankside is one of London’s most vibrant areas, with an eclectic mix of culture, food, architecture and attractions,” Simon Vincent, executive vice president, Europe, Middle East and Africa at Hilton Worldwide, said. “With the city attracting around 30 million global visitors every year, we are delighted to be expanding our footprint in the city and look forward to putting Hilton London Bankside on the map as a key destination for travelers and Londoners alike.”
