This June, the world’s largest online real estate marketplace unveiled an iPad app that lets buyers locate and bid on commercial and residential real estate from virtually anywhere. While Auction.com always has some multifamily properties up for bid in major metro markets, the platform is primarily geared towards single family buyers.
Now this shouldn’t turn our readership away, as single-family rentals are becoming more of an institutional asset class each day. A single tap on the app gives users an interactive map of North America that can be refined by location, property type, opening bid, size, age and financing options. Any properties that meet your criteria can be saved to a dashboard that provides real time auction updates and reminders.
You can literally hop in a car, cruise around your city and bid on properties as you see them.
Auction.com has been on a roll recently as far as technology milestones. In addition to launching the free app that can be downloaded from the Apple App Store, the company recently received a $50 million investment from Google Capital that is part of a strategic partnership focused on expanding Auction.com’s share of the global real estate marketplace. Additionally, former Yahoo! Inc. CFO & interim CEO Tim Morse joined Auction.com as CFO this past May.
