Columbus, Ohio—A Gold winner in the MHN 2015 Excellence Awards Best Operations Category, the 325-unit Taylor House is a luxury apartment community owned by local management company Preferred Living. The company’s corporate office sits less than 10 miles away from the community, so key executives are often onsite at least weekly and the regional manager makes a point to visit the site several times a week. The community also has a 24-hour resident manager, who can take care of any issues after hours, not just emergencies. This person is a friendly face that residents can turn to and voice their concerns to immediately. In addition, the community offers 24-hour emergency maintenance. Taylor House is open and staffed seven days a week because the company believes urgency is top priority. Communication is quick with both residents and prospects.

The monthly resident events put on by the management on site are customized to the residents, with wine and cheese nights, happy hours, plant potting sessions, pool parties and much more. Resident Appreciation Week was a huge success in 2015 as residents gathered for pizza parties, won gift cards, enjoyed a top-shelf happy hour and recieved free Krispy Kreme donuts to make the start of their Friday a little more enjoyable. This year, we will be launching Super Saturdays, where every second Saturday of the month we’ll have a food truck on site so guests can order a meal as they lounge by the pool.
Taylor House offers a mix of one- and two-bedroom units, ranging in size from 728 to 1,215 square feet, as well as a 1,808-square-foot penthouse. Community amenities include a tanning room, fitness center, clubhouse with billiards, a bar area and a screening room. Residents can also use an exclusive mobile app, Skyhouse, to communicate and meet, and the community partners with local businesses to offer residents discounts. Another key amenity is a multi-story climbing wall, where residents can use harnesses and climbing shoes free of charge.
