Luxury NC Community Welcomes First Residents
Wood Partners opened a 261-unit multifamily property in the vibrant Optimist Park neighborhood of Charlotte.
Alta Warp + Weft, a 261-unit luxury community in Charlotte, N.C., has opened. According to Yardi Matrix data, developer Wood Partners broke ground on the project in 2017 and took out $31 million in construction financing from Santander Bank to support the investment.
Situated at 2120 N. Brevard St., next to the new Blue Line light rail, Alta Warp + Weft is just two stops away from Uptown Charlotte. The property is also near Little Sugar Creek Greenway, a 19-mile system of trails and green space. Located in Mill District in the heart of the Optimist Park neighborhood, the community is one of the six Alta-branded properties developed across Charlotte by Wood Partners. Large employers nearby include Bank of America, Duke Energy, Atrium Health, Wells Fargo and Novant Health.
Built on a 3.2-acre parcel, the property consists of studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with floorplans ranging from 549 to 1473 square feet. Common-area amenities include a fitness center, business center, swimming pool and exclusive resident parking deck. In addition, the property features a lounge that will host local artists, pop-up businesses and events open to the public.
Vibrant neighborhood
Mill District used to house the country’s largest group of historic mills. Currently, the commercial area—especially the segment within the Optimist Park neighborhood—is a blooming center for local artists.
“The vibrant Optimist Park neighborhood is the center of growth for urban Charlotte,” said Tom Burkert, managing director of Wood Partners, in a prepared statement. “With the recent expansion of the light rail, this project offers access to the job center of Uptown Charlotte and the NoDa arts district while being located in a neighborhood that is seeing new amenities being added every day.”
In December, Wood Partners opened another luxury community in Fort Lauderdale. The community sits next to a 250,000-square-foot grocery-anchored Harbor Shops store. Additional shopping and dining options are in the immediate area, as are two hotels.
