After acquiring a 124-unit community in Bothell, Wash., Security Properties opened Sparc Apartments, a 309-unit community that is kick-starting Bellevue’s Spring District.

Located at 1201 NE 121st Ave., minutes away from Interstate 405 and State Route 520, the property is in close proximity to major companies such as Google, Microsoft, Expedia, Overlake Hospital and T-Mobile. Currently under construction, the East Link Rail service will connect the neighborhood to Seattle.

The Sparc consists of five buildings offering studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units averaging 834 square feet. Additionally, the community offers townhomes and live work/lofts.  According to Yardi Matrix data, there is also a 14,000-square-foot retail component on the first floor. Sparc’s amenities include a fitness center, a pet washing station, bike storage and maintenance, a Wi-Fi café, a clubhouse and a playground.

Sparc is the first project to open in Bellevue’s Spring District, a 36-acre, mixed-use urban neighborhood located on the site of a former Safeway grocery distribution center. Modeled after Portland’s Pearl District, the campus will be home to restaurants, hotels and more than 2,000 residents and 13,000 employees.
