KWA Construction Begins Phase II of Fort Worth Project
The second portion of the Columbia Renaissance Square development is scheduled for completion by the end of this year.
In keeping with the general revitalization taking place in the southeast area of Fort Worth, Texas, Phase II of Columbia Renaissance Square has broken ground.
The development follows on the heels of Phase I, built in 2017, and brings affordable independent senior living apartments along with mixed-income apartments to this fast-growing quadrant of “The City of Cowboys and Culture.” Developed by Purpose Built Communities, the property is being constructed by general contractor KWA Construction.
Apartment construction is not without challenges, and this project will be no exception. “Supply chain uncertainty and the tariffs being imposed during the project are some obstacles we are prepared to face and overcome,” Brian Webster, president of KWA Construction, told Multi-Housing News.
“Our project team, including the owners and the subcontractors, take a collaborative approach to come up with creative solutions to any obstacles we face.”
KWA Construction, which specializes in multifamily construction, made headlines earlier this month when the company wrapped up the construction work on The Village at Rayzor Ranch in nearby Denton, Texas.
Network of support
Columbia Renaissance Square Phase II has been designed around a holistic revitalization framework developed by Purpose Built Communities. It focuses on a mixed-income housing strategy and community wellness delivered by a community and support services network. The residences’ open floorplans feature full-size kitchens, a complete package of Energy Star appliances, 42-inch cabinets, vinyl plank flooring and carpeted bedrooms.
Scheduled for completion late this year, Phase II of the apartment community is proximate to shops, schools and services. Three retail centers are located within 2 miles of Columbia Renaissance Square. The property’s location also will place residents near an array of recreational settings, including Fort Worth Zoo, Log Cabin Village and Fort Worth Botanical Garden, all situated less than 8 miles from the apartment community.
