Founded by Zad Roumaya, developer Buzzworks has contracted KWA Construction to build its newest project in the Cedars neighborhood, south of downtown Dallas. Dallas-based Parmadesign designed the 86,362-square-foot project.
Located at 1919 South Akard St., Digit 1919, a 102-unit apartment community, features high-tech amenities, including an app-controlled thermostat, keyless entry, wireless security camera with live feed through a mobile app and free Wi-Fi. Furthermore, residents will be able to contact property managers and discover community events and through Aldea, a community engagement app.
Other interior amenities include washers, dryers and microwave ovens. The community also provides individual air conditioning and electric heating. Digit 1919 is also a pet-friendly community, including a 24/7 luxury dog grooming station and a remote pet camera. Monthly rent for this four-story apartment community with one- and two-bedroom apartment units will start at $1,200.
Common area amenities include:
- covered parking
- private balconies
- fire sprinklers
“Digit 1919 has been a great project for KWA to build, with much more focus on the tech-savvy apartment dweller of today. The developer and KWA have worked together to pay attention to detail on the daily touch points of the customer’s experience. Urban infill projects can be more challenging and complex, but it’s where we learn and innovate while playing a part in bringing these emerging areas forward,” said Brian Webster, construction president of KWA Construction, in a prepared statement.
Full City Rooster, Dallas’ bike trail system and the Cedars’ DART Station are all close by. Residents can also enjoy a variety of local galleries, restaurants and shopping centers.
Earlier this year, KWA Construction appointed Tayloe Call as executive vice president.
