The Class A apartment community is located in the city’s northwest submarket between USAA and the South Texas Medical Center.
Koontz Corp. has broken ground on Palmetto Pointe Apartment Homes, a Class A apartment community located in northwest San Antonio, between the headquarters of USAA and the South Texas Medical Center. With Koontz Construction, Wallace Garcia Wilson Architects and Kudela & Weinheimer landscape architect working on the project, the community is set to complete in 2020. The leasing office is planned to open in July 2019, when the first move-in-ready apartments are expected to be available.
The 13-building complex will spread across the 15.2-acre infill site at the front entrance of the USAA headquarters on USAA Boulevard. The asset is close to major infrastructure arteries, including Interstate 10, Loop 410 and Loop 1604. Palmetto Pointe is within 6 miles of the main campus of The University of Texas at San Antonio, the South Texas Medical Center and The Shops at La Cantera.
The urban project features 328 luxury one- and two-bedroom apartment homes comprising a total of 300,000 square feet. The one-bedroom units will range from 653 to 936 square feet, and the two-bedroom ones will range from 1,070 to 1,451 square feet. All apartments will feature Class A finishes including quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances and balconies. Common-area amenities will include a fitness center, swimming pool, garages and carports.
