Fountain Residential Partners has teamed up with HC2 Capital LLC to develop 8FOUR8 Mitchell, a 298-unit student housing community serving roughly 700 students. This marks the company’s first student housing property in Arlington, Texas.
The 687-bed community will be located on West Mitchell Street, just west of Cooper Street, near the University of Texas at Arlington. The Centennial Court Apartments, UTA’s administration building and Doug Russel Park are also close by.Â
Townhouses for students
8FOUR8 Mitchell will feature one-, two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom units and townhouses. The apartments will offer granite countertops, 50-inch TVs, stainless steel appliances, queen sized pillow-top beds and wood-like flooring. The 5.1-acre property will include common area amenities such as a resort-style pool area, an approximately 9,000-square-foot clubhouse, a fitness center and private study rooms.
“We have designed the next generation of housing for the students of UTA in the heart of campus with convenient access to both retail and restaurants along Cooper Street. With over five acres of land in a wooded area, we are able to create a great residential feel in the heart of the city,” Brent Little, president of Fountain Residential, said in a prepared statement. “This also afforded us the chance to build spacious townhome units, which will be unique to this market, and to offer larger, better amenitized public spaces.”
Stuart Roosth Architects serves as the project architect for the student housing community. Temple-based MW Builders Inc. is the general contractor. The property is slated to open by fall 2019. Back in August, Fountain Residential broke ground on a 46-unit student housing community in Chico, Calif.
