JV Acquires 2 Alabama Student Housing Communities

Landmark Properties, in a joint venture with Goldman Sachs, has acquired two student housing communities: The 150-bed My House on Caplewood and the 161-bed My House on the 50. South City Partners was the seller in the deal. The properties serve students at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The transaction marks Landmark Properties’ third student housing purchase in the past few months.

Located at 801 Frank Thomas Ave., My House on the 50 provides convenient access to Bryant-Denny Stadium. Common-area amenities include a rooftop resort-style pool, outdoor living area with HD TVs, stone fireplace, fire pit, grilling station, study facilities, group meeting rooms, 24-hour fitness center, secure bike storage and free tanning.

Built in 2017, My House on Caplewood features common-area amenities including a heated pool, grilling stations, fitness center, study lounges, club room, computer room, coffee bar, conference room and walk-in closets. Additionally, the pet-friendly community offers a dog park and a pet grooming center. Both communities are currently 100 percent occupied.
