Jacksonville Affordable Community Opens Doors

The Vestcor Cos.’ 96-unit senior living asset—the first in Clay County—welcomed its first residents, approximately one year after breaking ground.

Cassie Gardens Grand Opening

The Vestcor Cos. has opened Cassie Gardens, a 96-unit affordable senior living community outside of Jacksonville, Fla. The developer broke ground on the project in November 2017, according to Yardi Matrix.

Located at 534 College Drive in Middleburg, Fla., the community is the first affordable senior living property in Clay County. Positioned approximately 20 miles southwest of downtown Jacksonville, the three-story building rises next to an 11.4-acre man-made lake. The asset is close to a variety of shopping and dining options.

The community contains a mix of studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments, with floorplans ranging between 468 and 917 square feet. On-site amenities include a fitness center, an activity room, a dog park and a library.

Summit Contracting Group acted as the general contractor for the development. In late September, the firm kicked off construction of a luxury community near Savannah, Ga.
