Trammell Crow Co.’s residential subsidiary High Street Residential has broken ground on Corner 63, a seven-story transit-oriented community, located at 6300 Ninth Ave. NE in Seattle. The project is a joint venture between High Street and a MetLife Investment Management client.
Floorplans at Corner 63 will include studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units, with balconies available in select units. Community amenities will feature a coworking space, a fitness center, a bike-repair facility, garage parking, a dog walk and a rooftop deck with a firepit.
B+H Architects is serving as the project’s designer, while Chinn Construction is the general contractor. Avenue5 Residential will provide property management services for Corner 63.
Corner 63 is 2.5 miles from the University of Washington’s Seattle campus and offers quick access to the Roosevelt Link Light Rail station, which is expected to open this October.
The community is also conveniently 6 miles from downtown Seattle and less than 20 miles from the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Major employers in the Seattle metro include The Boeing Co., Amazon and Microsoft Corp.
As of May 2021, Seattle had 25,255 rental units underway, with 74 percent comprising upscale projects, according to Yardi Matrix data. Nearly one-third of projects underway are expected to come online by year-end.
