Grosvenor Americas opened Central, a mixed-use property located in downtown Silver Spring, Md. The community offers 243 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments as well as 15,000 square feet of street level retail space. Pure Barre and Orangetheory Fitness recently signed leases at the site, leaving more than 10,000 square feet of commercial space available.Â
“Silver Spring was overdue for a residence like Central. In the past few years this area has stepped out of Washington, D.C.’s shadow and grown into a hotspot of entertainment, music, dining and retail, so we seized an opportunity to create an active and exciting residential offering to complement it,” said Jon Carr, senior vice president of development within Grosvenor’s D.C. office, in prepared remarks.
Amenity-rich community
The six-story, LEED Silver certified property stands across the street from a Whole Foods store and a new library. The city’s retail core is also nearby. Residents will have a daily 30-minute commute to and from downtown Washington, D.C. on the Red Line.
All units feature kitchens with quarts countertops, ENERGY STAR stainless steel appliances, full-size washer and dryer and wood-style flooring. Property amenities include:
- a pool and sundeck
- an entertainment lounge
- a business lounge with collaborative workspaces
- a pet spa
- three outdoor terraces
- a library
- a 24-hour fitness center
- 24/7 concierge
As announced in the summer, the leasing and management efforts will be led by Bozzuto Management Co.
