FLOS Introduces a New Line of Modern Lighting Options
FLOS unveils a line of architectural lighting available in North America for the first time. The designs are a modern update to industry classics, and have a wide variety of colors and finishes so your designers can find a fixture tailored for the needs of a specific property.
New York—Italian lighting design company FLOS has introduced a variety of new architectural lighting products available for the first time in North America. While the fixtures are all drastically different in style, the offerings from FLOS are all designed with an eye towards nature, technology and environmental responsibility.
Out of the line of new products, there are two that stand out as strong contenders for multifamily use. They are the Compass Box and Kap.
Compass Box is a modern fixture that has a sleek vintage feel. The low-voltage halogen box is a ceiling mounted unit that can hold one, two or four adjustable pressed-steel spotlights. Each spotlight can pivot up to 20 degrees. This fixture could be perfect for either highlighting that awesome new art you purchased for your lobby or providing a dramatic element above a common space amenity such as a billiards table. The aluminum housing can be finished in wenge, gray, maple wood and teak, which ensures that the unit will match your given community’s color scheme.
Kap is a new take on recessed ceiling lighting. The sheer number of finishes and availability of LED technology makes the product outshine the competition. The body is created from extruded aluminum, and the LED variant has an interior reflector made of painted polycarbonate and a diffuser lens made of opal polycarbonate. The halogen version has a reflector made of painted aluminum and glass diffuser. Both options yield a uniform light. The exterior finishes are available both anodized and painted in a variety of colors.
