Extra Space Storage Buys 477-Unit San Antonio Facility
The Class A property was completed in 2013.
Extra Space Storage has acquired Noah’s Ark Self Storage, a 77,773-square-foot facility in San Antonio, Texas, Bexar County records show.
The 477-unit asset was previously owned by a private individual. According to Yardi Matrix data, the property was subject to a $4 million loan in 2020, originated by Bank of America.
Senior Managing Director Dave Knobler and Executive Managing Director Charles LeClaire of Marcus & Millichap represented the previous owner and secured the buyer of the three-story facility.
Built in 2013, the Class A property covers 1.2 acres. It offers climate-controlled units, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. On-site amenities include video surveillance, digital keypad access, moving carts, hallway lights on motion sensors, loading dock and covered loading bay, as well as an on-site management office.
The property is located at 19130 Stone Oak Parkway, 16.8 miles from downtown San Antonio, providing easy access to Interstate 10 through the N. Loop 1604 E. The facility is one of the 16 available within a 3-mile radius, offering residents 15.1 rentable square feet per capita.
Yardi Matrix data shows that Extra Space Storage owns and manages seven additional properties in the San Antonio market. The company has been active in other Texas storage markets as well, with a major recent acquisition. In August, Extra Space purchased Woodland Self Storage, a Class A facility in Austin, Texas.
