Editor’s Note: Building a Brand
Never underestimate the power of creativity.
For the second year in a row MHN signed on as a media partner to a most creative event. Art Night, presented by Hickok Cole Architects and Washington Project for the Arts (WPA), is a juried art show with proceeds going to further the WPA’s mission: to promote and present the work created by the local DC art community.
You grab a drink at the bar and then explore every bit of Hickock Cole’s wonderful three-story Georgetown office space which has been transformed—for the evening—into an art gallery. When you see something you like, you buy it.
Signing on for a second year was a no-brainer and this time I was joined by MHN Executive Editor Keat Foong. Besides seeing a whole lot of talent under one roof, we also had access to 780 of Washington’s most well-connected real estate executives, A&D professionals and industry suppliers. Since its inception many years ago, Art Night has grown into a massive and most impressive networking event that the DC real estate and design community looks forward to every year. And the name behind the event is Hickok Cole Architects.
There are many ways to build a brand. For Toby Bozzuto, it’s been about making sure his company’s multifamily developments offer residents thoughtfully designed spaces that exceed their expectations. Read our exclusive online interview with Toby Bozzuto here.
In recent years the apartment industry has been digesting the idea that design drives business and increasingly incorporating fresh ideas from the hospitality and corporate office sectors to improve the offerings in the marketplace. For designers, residents and anyone concerned with return on investment, this is an exciting time to be involved in the multifamily business. It’s my pleasure to introduce our newest resource: The Top Architects & Designers Directory. We’re currently gathering information from the most talented design practitioners.
