Del Webb Senior Housing Community to Open in North Carolina

Located in the master-planned development RiverLights, Del Webb Wilmington will feature 500 homes for retiring boomers.

Wilmington, N.C.—Del Webb, a brand of PulteGroup, is entering the Wilmington, N.C., market with an active adult community featuring 500 homes. Located in the master-planned development RiverLights, Del Webb Wilmington is scheduled for opening by October 2016.

Located at River Road, Del Webb Wilmington will feature a 15,000-square-foot amenity center with indoor and outdoor pools, fitness rooms and tennis, bocce and pickleball courts. Home sizes range between 1,262 and 2,565 square feet. The active adult community targeting pre-retirement and retiring boomers is situated 10 minutes south of downtown Wilmington with easy connectivity to beaches, major shopping, entertainment, dining and healthcare in the area.

“We know that 55+ households represent the largest consumer segment in Wilmington and the city is growing as a retirement destination,” said Charlie Tipton, division president for the Coastal Carolinas Division of PulteGroup, in prepared remarks. “There is strong demand among boomers for an exciting community lifestyle and this is an excellent opportunity to introduce the Del Webb brand to the area.”

Del Webb Wilmington is part of RiverLights Phase I, which is expected to bring thousands of residents to Wilmington, N.C.

Del Webb Wilmington will feature programs focused on an engaging lifestyle for the mind and body, tailored to the specific needs, interests and desires of the residents, and facilitated by a full-time lifestyle director to help plan activities, outings, new clubs and more.
