Deco Plans Another Condo Development in Scottsdale
Locally based Deco Communities has closed on a 2.4-acre site in Scottsdale, Ariz., that will be home to a new, 100-unit, to-be-named condominium project.

Scottsdale, Ariz.—Locally based Deco Communities has closed on a 2.4-acre site in Scottsdale, Ariz., that will be home to a new, 100-unit, to-be-named condominium project. Located at 7300 E. Earll Rd., the $31 million project will offer residences in Old Town Scottsdale, according to Deco.
The property will include a number of unit configurations, ranging from an 800-square-foot, one-bedroom plan to a 1,400-square-foot, two-bedroom with den plan. Common amenities will include a courtyard pool and spa, fitness facilities, bicycle storage, electric car charging stations and underground parking. The project is expected to break ground in early 2015 and the first units will be available for move-in the summer of ’16.
Daniel Gehman of L.A.-based Harley Ellis Devereaux will lead the project’s design. Private Label, a Tempe-based interior design firm, will curate the interior and exterior spaces. The building itself will be a four-story, wood-frame structure with a one-level underground parking garage.
Since January, Deco Communities has acquired other parcels to develop new condos, which it says now represents a total sell-out value of more than $120 million. One of those projects is Edison Midtown at 2346 N. Central Ave. in Midtown Phoenix, which was the site of a small office building that the company has torn down to develop condos; another is the Envy project, which is slated for development in Scottsdale’s Entertainment District
South Scottsdale has seen a resurgence of developments lately, with a number of developers announcing new projects in an area that had lost car dealerships and retailers during the recession (and dubbed SoSco by the local Chamber of Commerce and like-minded sorts in more recent years). The Arizona State University Scottsdale Innovation Center (SkySong) added a new residential building on its campus at the southeastern corner of Scottsdale and McDowell roads recently, and work is almost complete on Mark-Taylor’s 572-unit apartment property nearby in San Travesia.
