By Anuradha Kher, Online News EditorMontgomery and Worcester County–The David Cutler Group is making a foray into the 55+ active adult housing market with two new projects located in Montgomery (pictured) and Worcester counties in Pennsylvania. Montgomery Walk is a 254-unit townhome community located in Montgomery County and Stony Creek Farms is a 209-unit townhome community in Worcester County. The communities will be constructed in a phased process and move-ins will take place as units are completed. “Our company has matured over the years,” Christopher Heuges, vice president of design, tells MHN. “The foray into this 55+ housing market is a natural progression for us. We intend to take all the lessons we have learned over the years into this market. Of course, it is one of the stronger sectors right now and even though there are quite a few players in it, we have the competitive edge in design.”Both communities offer many leisure pursuits, including resort-style swimming pools and walking trails. Scheduled for completion in winter 2008, the 4,500-sq.-ft. Stony Creek Farms and the 7,500-sq.-ft. Montgomery Walk clubhouses will include multi-purpose gathering rooms, a movie theatre, fitness center, conference room, and more. Additionally, Montgomery Walk offers a putting green and a tennis court. Each development consists of five unit layouts with ample windows providing sunlight. At Montgomery Walk, each group of homes is situated around a landscaped courtyard, allowing privacy from neighbors and a larger backyard. The community’s units include two or three bedrooms, one of which is a first-floor master suite. All units at Stony Creek Farms have three bedrooms and the largest model, the Buchanan, offers an elevator option.”Many still have vibrant and high-energy lifestyles, and want to live in a community where they can enjoy pursuits such as running, swimming and more,” Heuges says. “At Montgomery Walk and Stony Creek Farms, they can truly have a worry-free, active life. These homes are ideal for Empty Nesters and other adults looking to continue their energetic lifestyle, while downsizing to a maintenance-free community in the suburbs.”All homes are priced from the mid $400s.The homeowner’s associations will handle all exterior maintenance, lawn care and snow removal.
