Austin, Texas—Houston-based Trendmaker Homes is expanding its Austin footprint. The luxury homebuilder acquired 29 lots in the 5,000-acre master-planned community of Crystal Falls in Leander, north of Austin. The financial aspects of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition represents the firm’s third Austin investment—Trendmaker is also building 38 homes in the Belterra neighborhood off U.S. Highway 290 between Austin and Dripping Springs, and has plans to build an undisclosed number of homes in the 1,035-acre Headwater community of Dripping Springs, currently under construction.
Trendmaker bought the lots in The Fairways neighborhood near Crystal Falls Golf Club and plans to sell ten floor plans ranging in size from 3,404 to 3,985 square feet with prices starting in the low $500,000. Model homes are scheduled for completion this spring, with a grand opening planned in August.
Trendmaker is the fifth-largest custom homebuilder in the Houston area. The company started in 1971 and was purchased in 2014 by California-based Tri Pointe Homes Inc.
