Tampa, Fla.—Crescent Bayshore, the only apartment community situated along Tampa’s exclusive Bayshore Blvd., is now in preleasing. Slated to open in June, the 367-unit luxury apartment community from Charlotte-based Crescent Communities nestles on the edge of Tampa’s Hyde Park, offers awesome bay views and provides access to the city’s most upscale restaurants and shops.
The community’s one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments offer chef-inspired kitchens, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, washers and dryers, designer lighting packages and spacious walk-in closets. Among the public spaces and amenities are an elegant community clubroom, upscale pub room and wine lounge, club-quality gym and on-site dry cleaning pick-up and delivery.
“We designed the Crescent Bayshore property to complement its extraordinary neighborhood,” Jay Curran, vice president of Crescent’s multifamily group, tells MHN. He reports the project reflects the architectural and design details prevalent in the high-end residences that line Bayshore Boulevard.
The most significant challenge that arose on the Crescent Bayshore project was simply getting the development underway, Curran reports.
“When Crescent initiated construction in 2012, the finance community still had hesitations regarding new development in Florida,” he says. “Fortunately, Crescent has great relationships with lenders who saw an incredible opportunity for a community like Crescent Bayshore, and we secured financing from Capital One and Nationwide. Subsequently, we revised some of the interior and amenity design features in the midst of construction, because we recognized that the improving market supported the true luxury product that the location on Bayshore Boulevard seemed to demand. With support from our design team and general contractor, Moss & Associates, we worked through modifications and look forward to delivering an exceptional community this summer.”
Pre-leasing of apartment homes at Crescent Bayshore was initiated recently by addressing the VIP registration list of more than 1,800 names, Curran says.
Crescent Communities has have not yet started marketing the community to a broad audience. “Many people expressed interest in living in the community months ago when we first started collecting contact information from prospects,” he reports. “Our resident profile is driven by the area amenities [including] proximity to the area’s best restaurants and shopping in Hyde Park, proximity to Bayshore’s running and walking path, adjacency to a grocery store and walkability to employment downtown or at Tampa General Hospital.”
Curran believes Tampa is already embracing Crescent Bayshore. “Apartment development is not what it once was; we are delivering true high-end residences that meet the standards of an exceptional location,” he says. “Our residents are the people who will embrace and enhance the Hyde Park and central Tampa community. Further, we are hopeful that people will find the property to be an appealing part of the Bayshore skyline; we already know the views from the property, of the downtown skyline and Bay below, are extraordinary.”
