CORT Partners with Apartment Communities to Raise Funds Supporting Military Families through the Fisher House Foundation

Chantilly, Va.—CORT, a Berkshire Hathaway Company and provider of rental furniture, worked with apartment communities across the nation to donate nearly $27,000 to the Fisher House Foundation, which provides a home away from home for families of patients receiving medical care at military and Virginia medical centers in the United States and Germany.
Earlier this year, $25 was donated to the Fisher House for each furniture lease, which resulted from a referral by an apartment community partnering with CORT. CORT regularly works with apartment communities to provide a rental furnishings option for their prospective residents.
CORT also supports military members and families in base housing nationwide by working with privatized military housing firms and directly with residents to develop customized furniture packages that fit any need or budget, ensuring residents can feel at home from their first day on the base.
The Fisher House has donated 57 homes nationwide and in Germany that house anywhere from 16 to 42 family members, thereby saving families of military personnel a collective $192 million in lodging and transportation costs and filling the gap between what the government is able to provide and what these families need.
