Opus_Minnetonka senior living_renderingThe Opus Group, a Minneapolis-based firm, has begun construction on a new four-story, 147-unit senior living community in the Twin Cities suburb of Minnetonka, Minn. The development will deliver a broad spectrum of service and housing choices including independent living, assisted living and memory care apartments. Upon the development’s completion in spring of next year, Minneapolis-based Ebenezer Management Services will operate and manage the community.

Opus has historically been on the forefront of market trends, meeting market demands early in the cycle; this is no different,” Matt Rauenhorst, Opus Development Company LLC vice president, told MHN.

Several external sources cite data that shows the senior demographic segment continuing to grow faster than the current supply of senior housing. Having owned the site for years, we identified it as an ideal location with compelling demand metrics for a senior living project. And with our proven track record of delivering truly differentiated value through our integrated approach, we are confident it will be a good fit.”

Outdoor spaces

The development will offer a comprehensive suite of amenities, including a salon, chapel, club room and full-service dining room. Distinctive outdoor spaces will include walking paths, orchard, water features, raised planter beds for resident use and a memory care garden.

Ebenezer is pleased to be part of this exciting new senior living project,” said Jon Lundberg, president of Ebenezer and Fairview Senior Services. “We are looking forward to partnering with the Opus team to provide quality lifestyle choice for older adults in the greater Minnetonka area.”

The Opus Group has owned the site for more than a decade, and company officials have considered a variety of uses for it based on its location and market demands, Rauenhorst said. “This project will differentiate itself in the market by providing a full suite of indoor and outdoor amenities for our residents,” he added.

The amenities, coupled with a desirable location and a best-in-class operator give us confidence we can create a desirable senior living community.”
