Collier Breaks Ground on FL Community
Slated for completion in 2018, Canterbury Circle in Ocala will include 304 units in 20 buildings. The project will be the company’s third in the area.

The Collier Companies has broken ground on Canterbury Circle, an apartment development in Ocala, Fla. The property will include 304 units in 20 residential buildings.
Canterbury Circle will offer eight different floor plans featuring walk-in closets, and a patio or balcony. Common amenities will include an electric vehicle charging station, pool with outdoor kitchen, pet walk, fitness center and a 10,085-square-foot clubhouse with a coffee bar, lounge and clubroom. The community will be completed in 2018.

Canterbury Circle will be the third apartment property in Ocala owned and managed by Gainsville, Fla.-based Collier Companies. The company currently owns and manages over 10,500 apartments in Florida, Georgia and Oklahoma.
Ocala, located in north-central Florida, is a growth market. In 2000, according to the Census Bureau, its population was almost 46,000. The bureau’s 2016 estimate pegs the local population at over 59,000.
Canterbury Circle is the only multifamily development now under way in the town, but other development is in progress there. Soon, downtown Ocala will be home to a Hilton Gardens Hotel, and Trulieve recently opened a medical marijuana dispensary in the Oakland Hills Professional Center. Also, Insight Credit Union purchased a bank building in the town, which will be the third Insight branch in the Ocala community.
