Changing Manhattan's Skyline: NY's Newest, Tallest Residential Building
Manhattan is world-renown for its skyscrapers. And now the tallest residential building is almost complete. Extell Development Co. announced that sales have started for ONE57, a 90-story glass tower, which will rise 1,000 feet above Midtown Manhattan.

New York—The Empire State Building. The Chrysler Building. Manhattan is world-renowned for its skyscrapers. And now the tallest residential building is almost complete. Extell Development Company announced that sales have started for ONE57, a 90-story glass tower, which will rise 1,000 feet above Midtown Manhattan.
The building, designed by Christian de Portzamparc, will feature 95 luxury condominiums. It will be located above a Park Hyatt Hotel and feature views of Central Park and the New York skyline.
Building amenities include a 24-hour doorman and concierge, a screening and performance space, on-site parking, swimming pool, private fitness center, yoga studio and a pet wash room. Additionally, residents will also have use of all the hotel amenities offered to the guests, including catering and room service, housekeeping service, dry cleaning and laundry service and ballroom access.
An unusual aspect up ONE57 is that residents have the “Extell Choice,” which allows them to choose from a selection of finishes, designs and layouts to customize their units.
“We have assembled the most talented architectural and design team in the world to create ONE57,” Gary Barnett, president, Extell Development Company, said in a press statement. “ Extell is committed to delivering homes of the highest quality. I am confident that this building will be the finest development in New York City and a great addition to its famous skyline.”
Residences at ONE57 are priced from $6.375 million. Occupancy is slated for 2013.
