Central Station Apartments in Evanston Completed
Central Station, an apartment property in the northern Chicago suburb of Evanston, has been completed, and residents are starting to move in.

Evanston, Ill.—Central Station, an apartment property in the northern Chicago suburb of Evanston, has been completed, and residents are starting to move in. The four-story building is the only new-construction rental property in the city’s Central Street corridor, which was recently named one of the Top 10 Great Neighborhoods in the U.S. by the American Planning Association.
Located at 1720 Central St., the development includes 80 apartments, 81 parking spaces and about 10,700 square feet of street-level retail. The units range from studio to three-bedroom plans and measure 590 to 1,485 square feet, with rents starting at $1,415 a month for studios and going up to about $3,560 for three-bedroom, two-bath units.
The development counts as transit-oriented, with a location near the Central Street Metra Station. Its on-site parking includes one space for a Zipcar, available to residents through Zipcar’s membership program, and property has a Walk Score of 77, which is “very walkable,” according to the organization Walk Score.
All of the units at Central Station, which is LEED-certified, feature Energy Star appliances, hardwood flooring, data wiring, and a full-sized washer and dryer. Most also include a Juliette balcony or patio. Common amenities include a fitness center, a cyber lounge, an outdoor terrace with a green roof, a bicycle room and no-extra-charge WiFi in all common areas.
The property is managed by RMK Management Corp. RMK president Anthony Rossi Sr. says that during pre-construction leasing, roughly 30 percent of the apartments were reserved. The company has opened a furnished, two-bedroom model apartment to continue its marketing effort.
