Join us as we celebrate the winners of the Commercial Property Executive Distinguished Achievement Awards and the Multi-Housing News Excellence Awards! We’ll be hosting an event on Thursday, 10/19, at 5:15 at the Resource Furniture showroom in Manhattan.
Our event will kick off with a keynote address from Fred Harris, managing director of development for Jonathan Rose Companies, and a panel discussion about industry trends and how they can affect your bottom line. Then join us for our award ceremony, accompanied by cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and networking with high-level industry insiders. Proceeds will be donated to Habitat for Humanity. Fred Harris, Managing Director of Development, Jonathan Rose Companies
Fred Harris was named managing director for Real Estate Development of Jonathan Rose Companies in 2016. Harris is responsible for directing the expansion and diversification of the Companies’ nationwide development portfolio.
Prior to joining Jonathan Rose Companies, Harris, as senior vice president, directed real estate development activities for AvalonBay Communities’ New York region. Harris then served as the executive vice president for Real Estate Development at the NYC Housing Authority. He directed the offering of sites for the construction of over 4000 new mixed income apartments and his efforts have sparked a nationwide discussion about the future of public housing in New York and elsewhere.
Harris currently serves on the board of advisors of the NYU Furman Center for Real Estate and Urban Policy and the Moelis Institute for Affordable Housing Policy. He was a governor of the Real Estate Board of New York, New York Board member of the Trust for Public Land, a Trustee of Brooklyn Hospital and an adjunct Professor at Columbia University.
Stephanie L. Williams, President, Bozzuto Management Co.
Stephanie L. Williams has been ensuring that The Bozzuto Group provides extraordinary experiences to residents, clients, partners and employees since 2004. She oversees an apartment portfolio of over 66,000 units across 235 properties in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest and Southern regions. Williams is proud to be a champion of diversity and inclusion, her customers’ experience and her extraordinary team.
In 2017, Williams was named Minority Business Leader by Washington Business Journal and was honored as a member of Baltimore Business Journal‘s 2017 Top 40 Under 40. She is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the District of Columbia Building Industry Association and the Real Estate Executive Council. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Community & Environmental Planning from the University of Washington and a Master of Community Planning from the University of Maryland, College Park. Washington, D.C., has been her proud home for the past 15 years and is where she lives today.Â
Ammr Vandal, Associate Principal, nARCHITECTS
Ammr Vandal, AIA, is an associate principal of Brooklyn, N.Y.-based nARCHITECTS. Ammr received a Master of Architecture from GSAPP at Columbia University, after earning her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the College of Wooster, in Ohio. Prior to joining nARCHITECTS, she trained in New York, Caracas and Pakistan. At nARCHITECTS, Ammr has led several award-winning projects at the office, including Carmel Place, Wyckoff House Museum in Brooklyn and Forest Pavilion in Taiwan and served as associate principal-in-charge of A/D/O, a new design space in Brooklyn. She has taught alongside Eric Bunge at GSAPP and been a guest critic at Pratt University, Parsons School of Design and CUNY.
Christine Slaughter, Director of Marketing and Design, Shaw Floors
After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in design from U.C. Davis, Christine Slaughter went on to work for high-end interior design firms, retailers, developers and builders, amassing fifteen years of experience in the design field. Christine joined Shaw Industries in 2007 and is the director of marketing and design. She has been featured on HGTV, talk radio, and flooring blogs, and has been published in various builder newsletters and several women’s shelter magazines. When she’s not out traveling the U.S. to train designers on all Shaw Floors has to offer, you can find her spending time with her two young daughters and husband.
Richard Broder, CEO, Broder & Sachse Real Estate
Richard Broder is a 30-year real estate veteran who started his career at Farbman Stein. Birmingham, Michigan-based Broder & Sachse Real Estate started out as a third-party management company that managed over 130 properties consisting of over 16 million square feet and 10,000 multifamily units. Today, the firm has evolved into development-focused real estate company with a quest to become the most urban innovative developer in Detroit and beyond. Broder is responsible for all strategic activities of the company. Under his leadership, Broder & Sachse has grown from a start-up business to a flourishing full-service development company. In addition to being a frequent speaker for real estate industry events and a passionate advocate for Detroit, he holds an Associate Brokers License in the State of Michigan and is a Certified Property Manager (CPM) of the Institute of Real Estate Management.
