The 147-unit community will be completed in mid-2026.

Celadon Partners has broken ground on Deerfield Supportive Living, a 147-unit affordable senior housing community in Deerfield, Ill. Total development costs are estimated at roughly $77.3 million and completion is expected by mid-2026.

Skender Construction serves at general contractor for the project pursuing Enterprise Green Communities Building certification. The development team also includes Assemble Design Workshop as main architect and SAS Architects & Planners as interior designers.

When complete, the community will cater to seniors earning between 50 percent and 80 percent of the area median income.

To be constructed in compliance with green building and sustainability standards, the four-story building will feature eco-friendly paint, coatings, plumbing fixtures, lighting, heating equipment and appliances. Common-area amenities are to include dining rooms, activity rooms, a library, a salon, a general store and a fireplace lounge.

The site is at 1101 Lake Cook Road, within walking distance of Deerbrook Shopping Center and the Lane Cook Road train station. Downtown Chicago is roughly 27 miles southeast.

This is not the first collaboration between Celadon and Skender. The two firms are also developing United Yards, a three-building fully affordable community in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood. Skender serves as general contractor for that project as well.
