Carrier Johnson + CULTURE LA Project Begins Construction
The 161-unit apartment community will replace an empty 81-year-old two-story building with a modern design that utilizes metal panels and ceramic tile.

The Carrier Johnson + CULTURE-designed mixed-use development 5750 Hollywood Blvd. in East Hollywood, has begun construction. The 161-unit apartment community will replace an empty 81-year-old two-story building with a modern design that utilizes metal panels and ceramic tile.
The seven-story property will offer studio, one- and two-bedroom floorplans, including live-work lofts. 5750 Hollywood Blvd. will also provide an affordability component, setting aside 14 units for low income residents. The structure has a podium-style base and residential blocks with connecting skybridges in which the low income units can be found. The development will feature 5,700 square feet of ground-floor retail space and parking accommodations for 271 vehicles and 16 bicycles. Residents will have access to amenities such as an outdoor pool, spa deck, rooftop terrace, media room and fitness center. Carrier Johnson + CULTURE’s design also incorporates shopkeeper units, which will take up a portion of the second floor, having these commercial spaces sit above the street-front retail space. The development was proposed in 2015 and sits on 1.1 acres.
