Cambridge Development Group has broken ground on the Citadel Urban apartment community in San Antonio. The $40 million, 181-unit multifamily property, situated at 503 Richland Hills Drive in the Alamo City, will be managed by Greystar.
The apartment community will offer one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans. Each residence will feature wood-inspired flooring, oversized walk-in closets, programmable thermostats, stainless steel appliances and oversize garden tubs. An outdoor, California-style cooking area highlights the list of common-area amenities.
Quick drive
Citadel Urban will be situated a short drive from a number of San Antonio attractions. These include Aquatica, SeaWorld, Main Event San Antonio West, Santikos Entertainment Casa Blanca movie theater, arcade and bowling alley and the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort & Spa. The apartments are also near major job hubs, including Lackland Air Force Base and Port San Antonio, Microsoft, NSA Cybersecurity and an assortment of hospital and medical centers.
The community is being developed in Westover Hills—a well-established market where most of the dwellings are reasonably priced large homes constructed between 2000 and 2011.
In launching the development, Cambridge Development Group has teamed with Humphreys & Partners architects, interior designer Karen Kramer & Associates, engineers Vickery & Associates and general contractor, Jordan Foster.
Strong market
In a prepared statement, a Cambridge Development Group official noted the company’s desire to deliver another apartment community was based on San Antonio’s strong market for rental housing. He also mentioned Cambridge Development Group has enjoyed excellent success since entering the San Antonio market in 2009.
Last month, a joint venture involving Greystar and Origin Investments launched construction on an $83 million development in Colorado Springs, Colo.
