Callahan Construction Completes Boston-Area Senior Community

Boston—Massachusetts-based Callahan Construction Managers recently announced it has completed its second of three projects developed in collaboration with Benchmark Senior Living.

Located at 1 Cedar Road in Woburn, Mass., Benchmark Senior Living at Woburn comprises a total of 87 apartments, 20 of which are memory care units and 67 are assisted living units. Amenities at the 73,000-square-foot community include a commercial kitchen, dining area with bistro, library, spa, dentist’s office, common-area living rooms, exercise rooms, computer room, arts and craft room, beauty salon and commercial laundry facility.

The assisted living center in Woburn follows the recent opening of a Shelton, Conn., community, while the next major project in the pipeline is the upcoming Benchmark Senior Living in Norwood, another Boston-area property. Developed in collaboration with JSA Architects, the Woburn property broke ground in May 2015 and was completed in 13 months.

With more than 50 properties, Benchmark Senior Living’s portfolio of communities spans across all New England states, with a focus on Connecticut and Massachusetts.
