San Antonio, Tex.—Tetro Student Village, a 198-unit, 590-bed student housing community near the University of Texas at San Antonio, has broken ground.  Developed by Atlanta-based real estate investment, development and advisory firm Carter, the community will welcome its first residents in the fall of this year.

The hallmark of the 16-acre community will be what the developer calls “Town Center” style living, in which townhomes and “flats-style” homes will be arrayed around a central community hub.  Included will be 121 flats-style apartments and 77 town homes.  Students will be able to choose from one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom units.  Townhomes will feature two-car garages.

Amenities will include a resort-style pool, state-of-the-art fitness center with cardio and weight-training equipment, theater room, sports bar, volleyball, basketball and bocce ball courts, soccer field, grilling area, fire pit, dog park, tanning room and arcade filled with classic games.  Student residents will also be able to congregate at “The Grind,” a community coffee shop, and a study lounge.

Each fully-furnished apartment features private bedrooms and bathrooms, spacious, fully-equipped kitchen, and walk-in closets.

Located at 15502 Babcock Rd., Tetro Student Village will put residents less than a quarter mile from the University of Texas San Antonio campus.  It is half a mile to the Shops at La Cantera Mall, featuring more than 160 retail, dining and entertainment options, and just more than three-quarters of a mile to the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.  Six Flags is about one and a-quarter miles away.
