Blue Onyx Cos. Breaks Ground on New Jersey Project

Blue Onyx Cos. has broken ground on 14 Summit, a 78-unit apartment building in East Orange, N.J.
March Associates will serve as construction manager for the project, which complements the developer’s adjacent 18 Summit apartment building, creating a campus-like setting across 2 acres.
The 14 Summit project, which was approved by the East Orange Planning Board in January this year, is expected to be completed by the spring of 2023.
Designed by Inglese Architecture and Engineering, the five-story building will be located between N. Arlington Ave. and N. Walnut St. The upcoming 77,913-square-foot community will feature eight studio apartments, 51 one-bedroom and 19 two-bedroom units. Amenities will include a coworking space, a fitness center, a pet washing station, a community lounge, two rooftop terraces and bike storage rooms.
Situated half a mile from Main Street—a major commercial corridor of East Orange—the property will provide easy access to the Garden State Parkway, Interstate 280 and the East Orange train station.
