Batson-Cook Breaks Ground on 180-Unit FL Student Housing Development
The $54 million project, developed by a joint venture including Kayne Anderson Real Estate Advisors, is expected to come online in the summer of 2018.

While nearly finished with the construction of SkyHouse Uptown South Tower, a 24-story mixed-use project located in the Fourth Ward neighborhood of Charlotte, N.C., Batson-Cook Development Co., partnering with Kayne Anderson Real Estate Advisors, broke ground on The NINE at Gainesville, a 180-unit student housing development near the University of Florida. The $54 million development is expected to come online in the summer of 2018.
Large variety of bedroom options
Located at 1115 13th St., the community will feature 627 beds and a total of 216,540 square feet. The four-story building will offer one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom units ranging in size from 570 to 1,547 square feet. All units will be fully furnished, with private bathrooms, and will also feature in-unit washers and dryers. Property amenities will include a resort-style swimming pool, a state-of-the-art fitness center, study rooms and a café.
Altamonte Springs, Fla.’s Forum Architecture and Design is also a part of the project. Arco Murray Construction Co. is the general contractor. Kayne Anderson Real Estate Advisors, BCDC and 908 Group provided the equity and PNC Bank is providing the construction financing.
