Baltimore-Area Luxury Property Breaks Ground
The 114-apartment community is part of the of the Metro Centre at Owings Mills mixed-use development, which will include a total of 1,700 residential units.
The Met at Metro Centre
Construction has commenced on The Met at Metro Centre, a seven-story, 114-unit luxury apartment community on the northwestern outskirts of Baltimore. The property is part of Metro Centre at Owings Mills—the only transit-oriented development in Baltimore County—located along Interstate 795.
Slated for completion in 2019, The Met at Metro Centre will offer one- and two-bedroom apartments with private dens. Units will range from 814 to 1,171 square feet. Common-area amenities at The Met include:
- outdoor pool with seating, dining and grilling areas
- multi-story parking garage
- fitness center with yoga room
- community room with kitchen and events area
- TV room
- game room
- business center
The Owings Mills Transit LLC is developing the mixed-use project, while David S. Brown Enterprises Ltd. acts as manager. The development will include more than 1.2 million square feet of Class A office space, 200,000 square feet of retail, 1,700 residential units, a 225-key full-service hotel and 120,000 square feet of educational facilities. More than 140,000 vehicles pass Metro Centre daily and 5,000 people commute to work boarding the Owings Mills Metro stop.
Last August, another Baltimore-area TOD opened its residential component in Howard County, Md. The five-story, 416-unit luxury community is part of thr Annapolis Junction Town Center mixed-use development.
