Aventon Cos. continues expanding its portfolio throughout Southeast United States with the groundbreaking of Aventon Bees Ferry, a 394-unit multifamily community in Charleston and its first luxury apartment property in South Carolina.
The multifamily developer and general contractor has assembled a $2 billion portfolio of ground-up developments with more than 9,000 apartments in Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas and the Mid-Atlantic since 2019. Early last month, Aventon announced plans for Aventon Victory, a four-story, 280-unit Class A multifamily community in Savannah, Ga. The 11-acre property is slated for delivery in early 2024 and will be Aventon’s third project in Georgia and the second in the Savannah area. In September, the company acquired a 16-acre lot in Lawrenceville, Ga., for the development of Aventon Exchange, a 300-unit Class A community set for completion in early 2024.
Aventon also announced plans in October to develop Aventon Meadow Pointe, a 360-unit luxury apartment community in Wesley Chapel, Fla., located about 25 miles from downtown Tampa, Fla. It is expected to be ready for leasing in 2024.
Charleston property details
Ron Perera, Aventon senior managing director, said in a prepared statement the firm chose Charleston for its next community because of the region’s year-over-year employment growth and strong economy and tourism industry.
Located in the booming West Ashley submarket of Charleston, Aventon Bees Ferry will have one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans. Each of the four-story buildings in the development will have elevator access. The units will have high-end finishes typically found in luxury single-family homes. The amenity package will include a community clubhouse with hospitality-inspired design and spaces for lounging, remote work and fitness. There will be two courtyards with a resort-style pool and gaming lawn in the primary courtyard and a nature-centered space for tranquility and relaxation in the second courtyard. The pet-friendly community will have a pet spa and on-site dog park.
The property is situated near the intersection of Bees Ferry Road and Savannah Highway and is proximate to major employers and world-class dining and shopping options including the historic downtown Charleston peninsula.
The development’s buildings were designed by Watts Leaf Architects with interior design curated by Studio 5 Interiors, Inc. Landscaping and hardscaping was designed by Thomas & Hutton, a local South Carolina firm. The project is slated for delivery by early 2024.
