AvalonBay Communities Gets Top Spot for Online Reputation

AvalonBay Communities ranked as the #1 multifamily rental housing provider in the U.S. for positive online reputation in the latest J. Turner Research rankings.

Arlington, Va.—Equity REIT AvalonBay Communities recenlty received praise for its superior reputation on online rating and review sites. The company received the #1 ranking for positive online reputation out of the top 50 multifamily rental housing providers in the United States based on J. Turner Research’s most recent Online Reputation Assessment™ (ORA™) Power Rankings.

“Every day our nearly 3,000 associates strive to provide distinctive living experiences for the more than 140,000 residents who call an AvalonBay community home,” said Sean Breslin, COO of AvalonBay. “Our online reputation reflects how our residents feel about their homes and our service.”

AvalonBay received a score of 76 on the ORA™ compared to the national average of 54 for multifamily rental communities. The Power Rankings rank apartment communities and management companies in the United States based on an aggregate score of online ratings. The scores are generated by a monthly nationwide analysis of the online reputation of more than 55,000 apartment communities across the country.

In addition to the ORA™ Power Rankings, AvalonBay is aware of its residents’ satisfaction through ongoing surveys conducted by market research company Kingsley Associates, reinforcing for the company that residents feel positive about their experience living in an AvalonBay community. AvalonBay continually outperforms the Kingsley IndexSM, the largest and most comprehensive database of customer satisfaction metrics available to the real estate industry.

As of Sept. 30, 2015, AvalonBay owned or held a direct or indirect ownership interest in 282 apartment communities consisting of 82,851 apartment homes in eleven states and D.C., of which 27 communities were under construction and eight communities were under reconstruction.
