Asset Campus Housing debuted its plans for the development of The Domain Tallahassee, a 434-bed student housing community that will cater to students attending Florida State University. Welcoming its first residents in the fall, Asset Campus will serve as both developer and manager of the property.

FSU Domain

Located at 700 W. Virginia St., the community will offer one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom floorplans ranging from 659 to 1,682 square feet. Apartment features include fully furnished units with custom designed furniture packages including full-sized beds, dressers, a nightstand and study desk and chair; nine-foot ceilings; flat screen televisions; large walk-in closets; hardwood-style floors; wood-style blinds; full-sized kitchens with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances; track lighting; private bathrooms with garden tubs; ceilings fans in the living room and bedrooms and full-sized washer/dryers. Residents of The Domain will have access to amenities such as a 24-hour fitness facility; computer center with Macs, PCs and printing; three private study rooms; a resident lounge and coffee bar; resort-style pool; poolside hammock areas; an outdoor fire pit; group fitness classes; free tanning; community events; Wi-Fi hot spots and outdoor grilling stations. Trash, sewer, cable television, internet and water are all included in the rent price.

“The Domain Tallahassee project is one in which we are wearing two hats—developer and manager,” said Michael McGrath, CEO of Asset Campus Housing. “We have developed the property and designed the Domain Tallahassee using our extensive operator knowledge for the amenities and units. One goal of the project is to help students looking to move off campus make a seamless transition to off-campus living. Because of its location right across the street from FSU, the Domain Tallahassee offers residents the best in off-campus experience with easy access to classes, campus activities and resources.”

The Domain sits adjacent to FSU and allows residents walking access to campus through a tunnel that runs under Tennessee Street. Tallahassee has continued to grow as a prime location for multifamily development, with Waypoint Residential recently purchasing a 288-unit student housing property in the city, which will be converted into traditional apartments.
