Anthology Senior Living has broken ground on Anthology of Austin, a 130-unit senior living community in Austin, Texas. The developer has tapped Cadence McShane Construction Co. to build the 128,000-square-foot development, with design headed by OZ Architecture. The project is expected to come online in early 2023.

The developer acquired the land for the project in July 2020, according to Travis County records. At the end of August, Anthology Senior Living secured a 4-year, $34.7 million construction loan originated by First National Bank of Omaha.

The five-story property will take shape on a more than 2-acre site at 10001 Stonelake Blvd. Anthology of Austin will feature 106 assisted living units, while 24 will be memory care, available in studio, one- and two-bedroom configurations.

Amenities, location

Planned amenities include a fitness center, a discovery room, a theater, a clubhouse, a salon and barber shop along with several dining spots as well as a bar and bistro that opens out to a rooftop terrace. The community will also have a landscaped courtyard that utilizes the site’s heritage trees and other native species.

Adjacent to the Office of Sponsored Projects of the University of Texas at Austin, the development is within walking distance of several shopping and dining options. Anthology of Austin is within 3 miles of Q2 Stadium, roughly 10 miles north of downtown.

The development marks Anthology Senior Living’s third project built by Cadence McShane Construction Co. Elsewhere in the state, a partnership including Ryan Cos., Grand Living Management and Bow River Capital kicked off the construction of a 186-unit luxury senior housing project. Grand Living at Tuscan Lakes in League City, Texas, is also slated for a 2023 spring delivery.
