Santa Monica, Calif.—Alliance Residential has completed Sway Santa Monica, a 122-unit apartment property in Southern California. Located at 525 Broadway (at the corner of Sixth and Broadway), the development is a walkable place near the ocean as well as downtown Santa Monica.
In fact, the location has a Walk Score of 93 out of 100, according to the Walk Score organization. That qualifies it as a “Walker’s Paradise,” where daily errands don’t require a car. Its Transit Score is somewhat lower, at 76 out of 100, which still counts as “Excellent Transit.”
Sway was designed by Culver City-based Cuningham Group Architecture;Â Santa Monica-based Studio Collective did the interiors. Amenities include a zero edge salt water pool with LED lighting and underwater speakers; an outdoor projector screen for poolside cinemas, along with a kitchenette that has two 36-inch grills, an ice machine and outdoor dining area; The 1850 Clubhouse, an open air lounge with private nooks, bar and billiard table; and a fitness club equipped with cardio equipment with personal TVs and Internet, full-circuit training equipment and free weights.
The property also includes an art gallery featuring local artists, shuffle board table, and floating boat day bed as a decor detail. Local diversions include the Santa Monica Organic Farmer’s Market, Beachside Bike Path, Santa Monica Pier and Tongva Park.
Jonas Bronk, Southern California managing director for Alliance Residential Co., noted that “all details of the project are drawn directly from the personality of Santa Monica. It was our goal for a project that strived for sustainability, including economic vitality, environmental sensitivity, and cultural vibrancy.”
